Tower Bridge Sunrise

Third time lucky

This was my third attempt to capture a sunrise behind Tower Bridge, I wanted a new image for a calendar that I was producing to sell to raise money for a charity.

On the first attempt, the rising sun was blocked by the cloud layer to the east, on the second it was the complete opposite, no cloud just a plain sky, nice but not what I was looking for. A week later I tried again and this was the result, just the right amount of cloud.

Arriving at the bridge an hour before sunrise I set up and waited, the sky didn’t look ideal but I know how quickly things can change, and change they did.

The sky lit up, and I was shooting and very happy.
